Summary of doctoral thesis: My thesis traces the development of the philosophy of translation from the first century BC to the sixth century AD in Rome. The main focus will be Plato’s Timaeus (translated by Cicero and Calcidius), and Aristotle’s Categories (translated by Boethius and in the Anonymous Paraphrasis Themistiana), through which I aim to provide a comparative analysis of the methodologies of philosophical translation throughout antiquity.

Other research interests: Textual Criticism, Latin Neoplatonism, Twelfth Century Mediaeval Philosophy
